Electronic stability control (ESC) is a computerized technology that improves a vehicle’s stability by detecting and reducing loss of traction. It applies brakes to steer the vehicle where the driver intends to go and can reduce engine power until control is regained. ESC does not improve cornering performance but reduces the chance of the driver losing control of the vehicle.
